Mr. Caleb Bradham a pharmacist of New Bern, North Carolina changed a name “Brad’s drink” that he made for customers in his drugstore to be a name Pepsi- Cola on 28 August 1898. Pepsi always uses famous presenters to advertise campaigns. For the main concept of Pepsi is a drink of new modern generation. In Thailand, Pepsi launched the first on 18 March 1953 at seven o’ clock. A slogan this year is "Refresh Everything" and (during many commercials) "Every Generation Refreshes The World".

Produce lines

There are four products that sold in Thailand.
1. PEPSI Green
This is a concept that realize in environment by using green color to present a taste of Pepsi and peppermint.
2. PEPSI MAX 0 calorie
It’s a drink no sugar added. This is a good choice for new generation that takes care of health.
3. PEPSI I Can
Pepsi is a drink that makes fresh feeling and wins the heart of Thais for a long time.
4. PEPSI Twist
It’s new innovation of a drink. When tingle of Pepsi mix with a smell of lemon that can be a new taste.

Logo

A logo of Pepsi is a globe that has white stripe lay middle between red and blue color.
The logo is representation of leader and modernization. Furthermore, Pepsi makes logo to be refreshing and cheerful increasingly.

Target groups

The target group of Pepsi is teenagers that we can call “new generation” have ages between 15 and 19 year. Pepsi tries to create new product that it can mix with lifestyle of new generation.

Branding strategies

I analyze three main points that make Pepsi is favorite of consumers.
Firstly, Advertisements of Pepsi touch the heart of new generation. Additional, Pepsi creates easy remembered slogans and wins consumers’ heart.
For example, Pepsi is the best and Pepsi is the taste of new generation.
Secondly, Pepsi makes a concept of very advanced or future drinking. Hence, buyers feel smart, look up-to-date when drink Pepsi. On the other hand, if you choose Coke, you look too old.
Thirdly, images of Pepsi that they’re updated all the time. Pepsi changes new design, package and campaign to look outstanding and fashionable.

Positioning

Pepsi is a drinking for new teenagers. Pepsi is a part of the lifestyle of new generation. If you drink Pepsi, you are very smart and modern exactly.

Key successful factors

There are five strategies that make Pepsi is the number one.
The first strategy, Pepsi will research in new generation behavior by talking with target group, trend setter and blogger.
The second, Pepsi will produce advertisements use only in Thailand by using concept global concept to apply with them.
The third, Pepsi creates various activities on website pepsithai.com.
Next, Pepsi realizes in the lifestyle of teenagers. Therefore, Pepsi arranges two activities for new generation that are a contest compose songs with computer and play extreme sport.
The last, it is the first time of Pepsi that have a contest design packaging by Thai people.

Promotion strategies


Pepsi takes pull strategy since it releases lots of advertising on television. This way is easy to get attention from many watchers. Additional, Pepsi promotes new website www.pepsithai.com for giving new campaigns, activities and messages to customers.

Reflection

I think this project is very useful for me because I learnt about something that I don’t know before. I’m proud that I can design my own blog. This blog helped me improve writing skill and used business knowledge to apply in learning English. Furthermore, this course encouraged me interested in real situations of business. Now! I’m professor of Pepsi.

I felt interested in this brand because this season is the hot season. It made me think about drinking iced beverage Oh! Pepsi can help me! Furthermore, Pepsi released a new advertisement on television, it’s very good attractive one. Importantly, Pepsi is the global brand, therefore; I made the decision study this brand.

The summary in Brand and Positioning of Victoria’s Secret

Victoria’s Secret is the greatest brand loyalty among consumers influenced by style. This brand gave the most importance in promotion for example; every advertisement will have sexy supermodels to be presenters. Furthermore, it had attractive pictures by top-notch photographers. In addition, it managed annual fashion show to launch new produces. More importantly, it had the good marketing strategy was Victoria’s Secret Direct (catalogue and the internet) were symbolized of Victoria’s Secret brand image. I quoted the statement from the article Victoria’s Secret “The Limited, Inc. viewed Victoria’s Secret as a “360-degree” brand, using a comprehensive marketing strategy to connect its retail, catalogue, and web sales.” This statement showed if we want to be the one, we should be complete.

My journal


Week 1
For the first class, I was really excited very much but when Aj Gob came she looks very friendly and likes to smile. It helped to relax. I felt impressive her since the first time. The first class, Aj showed the overview of this course, introduced herself to us, talked about general information in business and learning English language. After that, we did the pre-test. It was the first class that I don’t have any complaint to anything. But I felt very glad to learn English with you Aj Gob.
The second time to meet ENG-380, everybody started to acquaint each other. Today Aj presented lots of opinions of the pre-test, it was various ideas. However, no idea is wrong just be your origin. This class Aj started to introduce the knowledge in the international business. I really loved the technique of Aj that she always asks questions before coming in the contents. I think we will use our brain more than only sit and listen. Furthermore, we will work in group to survey about goods and listed of brand. Every group had the different kinds of goods and the variety of brand names. It was fun activity. My comment, I like the preparation of Aj; she has a good plan since first step she will tell the agenda in the class and continue. She is my idol.
Week 2
On Tuesday June 2, 2009 this class Aj explained the course syllabus to us. It was really stressed because lots of things that we must do in this short term. However, it was good for us to be good preparation to manage everything well. After that, we practiced listening skill the Victoria Secret bra from Youtube and answered questions. Youtube is my favorite website that I like to listen with the picture make me understand easily.
On Thursday June 4, 2009 Aj gave lecture us in “Principles of marketing concept” I think it wasn’t hard since Aj made it easy by drawing picture and connecting it has relation. Nevertheless, I think Aj spoke very quick. Please hang on me and give more obvious to think about it easy.
Week 3
It’s my good news that no class on Tuesday June 9, 2009. I have the time to prepare lots of homework. Thanks Aj. Gob
On Thursday June 11, 2009 we did the activity in group work. It’s good to discuss or change the ideas. After that, it’s the time to present I joined this oh! It’s nervous but I can do. For the things that we got from this activity I think we knew our buying behavior under the influence of the marketing producer. Furthermore, we can match our buying behavior with Maslow concept. It helped us understand this concept obviously.
For the comment, I want Aj. to manage the activity less than this because I think we don’t have much time I desire to study all of many things that you told us. I think it’s very useful for us in using lots of knowledge in this subject in real life or work.
Week 4
This week I learned in the first P that is product focus on brand and positioning of the product. I felt it’s hard to make one brand is famous and get the heart of customers. After that, we know it’s not easy to be one brand because the company must invest lots of in R&D and think of the positioning of the produce that will convince consumers to buy this new produce. However, before one produce is launched it has to survey the needs, wants of buyers too this work will spend much money also. Certainly, we will decide to buy something because of the influence of the advertisement; it will persuade users follow the brand and positioning created. Today, we will buy because we are told to buy not because we want it sincerely. Furthermore, we did the job interview activity I was the interviewer it’s quite excited but this activity helped me prepare for the coming job interview in cooperation.
